Douglas Adams: Parrots the Universe and Everything

You should know who Douglas Adams is (if not, then shame on you!), but you might not know his books that are not The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. If so, then I highly suggest you have a look at "The last chance to see" which is one of the best books I have ever read.

It's informative, written in a way so you don't want to put it down and while it is about a rather depressing topic (namely: nearly extinct species) it's actually really, really funny.

Nightmares, Disasters, Crimes and Videogames

The week is over, the results are out, so it's time for the next batch of pictures I made for the photoplasty competitions at cracked.com.

And quite a batch it is - over twenty pics! That's quite productive, wouldn't you say?

Like last week I managed to place twice in the same category, and even better: One of my entries for "Tiny Changes that would've turned good ideas into disasters" actually won #1!

Ta-Daaaah!

And the second placer made it to #16, possibly because with that moustache Lady Liberty looks like Teddy Roosewelt:

Below are again all the entries that didn't place, but that you still might find funny.

Culture, Alternative Reality Pop-Culture & Dick Jokes

As promised here's the next batch of pictures I submitted to the photoplasty contests at cracked.com - and this time two of them made it into the placers - both for the same topic: Famous Photos - One Minute Earlier

The first picture is a rework of the cover of "Abbey Road" by the Beatles and it placed at #8:

The second picture mate it to position #6 - it's my take on what happened prior to the famous Dali photo with the flying cats - here I included the original picture, so people who don't know Dali still can get it:

I'm actually quite proud of this work - I re-built the room from scratch, added the furniture and puzzled together Dali from several different pictures - the head from one, the torso from another and the legs from yet another picture - so his age and clothes match the one im the original.

Below are the submissions that didn't make it last week - some still pretty funny, I think.

Doctor Who Classic: Revelation of the Daleks

Nash reviews another Doctor Who story from the era of the Doctor with the Weird suit.

When computergames go wrong...

Some more pictures I made for the cracked.com image manipulation contests. Right now I'm doing quite a bunch of these - it's fun and I learn a *lot* about image manipulation simply by toying around. :)

And lo and behold - the first picture made it to #5 (out of 250 entries) in it's topic "When Video Game Characters Finally Snap"

A huge thanks has to go to to babylon-15dl who created the original picture of "not so slim Chell" I used in my collage!

If you don't get the joke - it's "Chell" the main character from "Portal" and cake becomes something of a focus point during the game's story. If you don't know it - get it. It's quite cheap by now and *highly* entertaining.

Shaking Hands with Death - by Terry Pratchett

I posted this a while ago already, but the video was taken down from youtube. But since then it has been put up on the homepage of Sir Terrance - so here it is once again, "from the source" so to speak:

cracked.com Photoplasty Contest "Real life plot twists that explain everything" - my entries

You may have noticed that I've begun to make some pictures from time to time - that's because I started to have fun with the photoplasty contests over at cracked.com - they give a subject, actually several subjects each week and then the forum members try to come up with funny picture manipulations.

This week, amongst others, it was supposed to be "Real life plot twists that explain everything", and these are my three entries. The first one fitting since Easter is coming close:

Mike Mozart: "Be a HERO and Help STOP SOPA Now!! I'll tell you How! This Video that Must Be SHARED! "

Mike Mozart from Jeepersmedia, one of the more popular youtube channels (and, compared to some other cases THIS one deserves it's views) has some points about the supporters of SOPA. Some extremely GOOD points - watch for yourself:

Team TGWTG reviews: Moulin Rouge

Damn - this has got to be the greatest movie review I've seen yet, I believe it might even beat redlettermedia's Mr. Plinkett.

A review of a musical - done as a musical. :D
