"Summer of the Chew Toy Soul" by Tristan Newcomb

What would YOU do if you saw a Sunday School puppet for sale that had been accidentally manufactured with a facial expression of perpetual anxiety?

Doctor Who 101 by SF Debris

SFDebris is one of the online reviewers whose work I enjoy on a regular basis. His obvious focus is SciFi TV series - he started with reviewing Star Trek TNG episodes and since has added the classic series, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise to his repertoire. Followed by non-Trek Series like Babylon 5, Red Dwarf or Doctor Who.

Now, he usually does episode reviews, but I picked this video he just released, because it gives a really nice basic oversight about the history of Doctor Who, a show that over the years I grew really fond of and that, let's be frank, does need some explanation...

The NostalgiaCritic reviews: The Langoliers

"The Langoliers" in one of the stories by Stephen King that came out *after* I stopped enjoying Stephen King and that - to this day - I haven't read. I haven't even seen the movie. Seeing Doug's review of it I now feel blessed that I never did, talk about one pile of steaming poop! XD

Spoony reviews: Mercenary Fighters

Spoony introduces us to a true gem of a turd of an action movie, in which our "hero" massacres numberless black villagers and stands by as black women and children are executed - but when the forces of evil turn on the white chick he has a boner for he immediately sees the error of his ways and ... nope, actually he doesn't until even later in the movie! :D

Mr.Plinkett reviews: Star Wars, The Phantom Menace

It should be obvious by now from the contents of this blog that I'm a big fan of online movie reviews of shlocky movies - the ones I post here are just the best I find, I watch many more.

What makes a good crappy-movie-review for me? Well, for one it really helps when the reviewer actually knows stuff. Just saying "this sucks" I can do too, but to explain why something sucks so bad that it has an event horizon from which no braincells can ever return once they got into it's range - that is an art...

So let me introduce you to Mr.Plinkett. I have already posted movie reviews from his webpage redlettermedia.com before here - like the one he did about the Star Trek reboot. If you have seen them you don't need more information, you already know the phenomenon that is called Plinkett.

If you haven't: Mr.Plinkett has a unique insight into the movies he talks about, laying his fingers on the weak spots, giving credit where credit is due, pretty much all the time being spot on. That, and he also tortures & murders women in his basement.

Nice bloke, though.

What turned him from a funny act from some webpage into the internet celebrity he is today (with mentions at MTV or Entertainment Weekly) has got to be his review of Star Wars, the Phantom Menace - probably the best existing review of this disaster of a movie worldwide. Enjoy! :)

The Thatguywiththeglasses - Team does scary Halloween stuff!

Because it's Halloween the team over at thatguywiththeglasses.com has been quite busy reviewing a whole bunch of scary movies... Well, some are actually more "scary" (with the quotation marks) than actually scary, but that's all part of the fun, isn't it? Here's my favourites so far, all bundled together for you to enjoy!

Nostalgia Critic and Cinema Snob: Leprechaun

We start with my two favourite tgwtg-reviewers giving their opinion on "Leprechaun" - an 80's "horror"-classic in which a shaved Ewok from Ireland in striped stockings is terrorizing a bunch of yokels in America:

"Alone in the Dark" reviewed by NostalgiaCritic, Spoony and Linkara

My three favourite guys from thatguywiththeglasses.com review a ... well, "movie" by the feared German professional boxer and part time movie director Uwe Boll. Ouch! :D

Kung Tai Ted reviews "Dragon lives again"

Brad Jones reviews probably the weirdest movie that came out of the exploitation sub-genre of "Bruce Lee copies"...
